Jacob Knight
I'm Jacob Knight. Before I was any kind of officer, I was a teacher, and that's probably more relevant to what I do now than any title that came after. I spent 15+ years writing software, including hands-on machine learning work back before anyone said "attention" or "transformer" out loud. I've got an MBA from the University of Utah and a BS in Physics from Utah State, which means I've sat through the theory and then gone and built the thing anyway.
At Purple, I chaired the Technology Review Committee that cut $2M+ in annual costs, re-platformed e-commerce at enterprise scale, and rescued a failed point-of-sale project that was carrying real legal exposure. Today I'm contract CTO for OnScene, a vertical SaaS market leader, and I coach executives and firm partners, accountants and marketers especially, through practical AI adoption.
My goal in a coaching relationship isn't to hand you a roadmap and disappear. It's to open doors: I don't always know which door is the right one for you, but I know how to open them, and I'll stand there with you while you decide. AI strategy written by someone who has never shipped software is fiction; I've shipped the software, closed the books like an MBA would, and taught a room of thirty teenagers who did not want to be there. That last one might be the hardest of the three, and it's the one that actually taught me how people learn.
I work with a small number of clients at a time, based in Layton, Utah, serving the Wasatch Front and remote clients nationwide.
